Living in Cape Town I attended AAA School of Advertising where I studied a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communication. Specialising in strategic brand management, advertising account management, and digital marketing, it was no surprise that I would land up in the business of selling!
None at all! After completing my degree, I spent some time at boutique design and branding agency, SORTED, assisting in the client services department working with clients such as Blok developments and Cinnabon.
I have also spent some time working at Bishops Diocesan College assisting with various PR and marketing tasks, and Digital Outsource Services working as an online customer services host for a casino and sports book based in the UK.
The reason I made the move to MediaVision was the opportunity to learn about the digital industry and to work with some of the fantastic clients we do work for.
With traditional advertising such as TV, print, and radio there is only one-way communication between the brand and the consumer; there is no way to understand what the audience is thinking, feeling, or doing. Digital has opened this door and brands are now far better equipped to engage with their audience and understand exactly what they want and when they want it. That is what makes digital so appealing: communication = understanding = success.
