Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Hell-bent that I was going to be a lifestyle journalist for the biggest glossies in town, I started my studying for a B-Tec National Diploma in Print Journalism and Digital Imagery. I then went on to study for a BA Hons. in New Media Journalism with Advertising at Thames Valley University (Now named West London University). This is where it all changed and I got the brand bug. I loved looking at advertising and marketing and finding out what made people tick. The rest, you can say, is history!

What previous experience do you have in the digital industry?

My career started at the perfect time. The words ‘blogs’ and ‘Twitter’ were being thrown about and being fresh to the game I wanted to make the most of this exciting period of newness! I worked at a number of agencies and in-house positions with brands such as Prestige Collection, Estee Lauder’s Fine Fragrances, New Look, Barry M, Schwarzcroft Professional, Tesco, Fudge, Joico and Tangle Teezer. However, I wanted to really get under the skin of a brand and launch them to the digital world! As a result, I joined Sleek MakeUP- a cosmetic high street brand sold nationwide. Here, I helped set up a blogger’s programme that networked with the most influential beauty bloggers in the UK, Europe and the US that in turn resulted in store groups wins.

Why do you enjoy working in digital?

Digital always changes and from my experience, it’s not something that you can learn from a distance. You need to be involved in the industry at all times. I love working with a team that are just as passionate about digital as I am. Digital marketing always changes and we can’t predict what will happen tomorrow – that’s the fun of the game!

What is your role at MediaVision?

As head of Social and Digital PR, I get the pleasure of working on a plethora of brands. These could be anything from start up businesses where I work closely through branding and website launch, to established brands that are the pinnacle of the British high street. My expertise covers lifestyle and premium brands, but my experience stretches further than that!

  • Party trick: I can fit my hand in my mouth. Impressive, huh?
  • Most embarrassing moment: tripping up the stage when receiving my degree.
  • Favourite band/song: The Smiths – There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.
  • One interesting fact: I was voted THIRD funniest girl at my school.
  • Favourite movie/TV show: Conair.
