Does CityGrid offer you what Google cannot?

Imagine that you are a small business. You know that in order for you to be present on the web and take full advantage of your online advertising that you need to employ the expertise of an online marketing company that will aid you in establishing your presence and basically get you noticed. It is no secret that we are always looking for new ways to be recognised as a brand, especially when there is another 5 000 restaurants/hairdressers/frog ornament stores in our area. Many of us have added our info to local search listings and this is a great addition to our online marketing plan but we all know that with Google’s method of random generation, we should not merely rely on this addition and see it as just that.
With small new companies wanting to get noticed and stand out in their particular area as well as have the opportunity to advertise across multiple publishers, it can be somewhat difficult for them to know where to advertise and what these advertisements will provide for them. What helps them is if they can utilise all forms of information distribution and ultimately, make lemonade out of lemons.
This is where CityGrid has seen an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. Known as a local advertisement marketplace where exchange is welcome, this content and advertising network for anything local is letting it all hang out, so to say. CityGrid is combining all of their advertisers from multiple partners and compiling all of their company listings so that they can be available to consumers.
Powered by CitySearch, a search application where you can find pretty much everything in your area, CityGrid is revealing all of CitySearch’s information and making all of this information available to the multiple masses via an Application Programming Interface (API) So now, instead of just advertising your company just on City Search, it can now be accessed across other sites from third party members. It is true that more sources are better than one, but do too many cooks spoil the broth?
CityGrid believe that this service is new and innovative as it lets other publishers infuse the companies content onto their web page in their own way, therefore allowing your content, photo’s video’s and information to be viewed in multiple ways.
While there are no prominent disadvantages by using CityGrid, one must not rely on it totally and think that it will do all the work without any of the effort. The truth is that CityGrid is a great addition to your current online marketing expenditure and it if works for you, then why not? If you wish to expand your brand name and get noticed locally then register for an API key and see what happens. No one has ever said that you can have too much exposure, or have they?
