Quad Biking and Wine: What Can Go Wrong?

Friday, September 30th, 2011

After working with the established team of Mediavision Interactive for just over a month, you can tell this team lives on the edge of a multitude of things. Whether it’s the primary business of SEO that satisfies the broad client base we serve or the experiences after hours, this ethos is the driving force behind the team. So when the offer appeared of Quad biking in the Paarl Wine region with a tasting at a prestigious estate, the team mounted up and speeded off to claim a day of sunshine and adventure. Everyone assembled at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate for briefing with our expert guides and then were herded off to the safety department to claim helmets to ensure nobody rattled their noggin extensively. Dave was the true winner, scoring a suave equestrian number from the spring line while the rest of us got an 80’s “Chips” style dome, with Brett needing a set of Aviators to complete the look.

The Boat that Rocked! MediaVision Celebrates 2010

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Anyone who reads the MediaVision Interactive blog will know just how dedicated we are to staying at the cutting edge of the SEO industry, and anyone who is a part of our hard-working team will know we like to play just as hard as we work! This past weekend marked MediaVision’s end-of-year celebration; on Friday afternoon the team headed out to Kraalbaai on the West Coast for a well-deserved break aboard the luxurious Nirvana houseboat. Our destination couldn’t have been more aptly named – this houseboat is a floating haven in the middle of a beautifully blue lagoon.

On Friday evening the team was in high spirits and took the opportunity to unwind, swimming and socialising as we enjoyed a delicious fish braai. On Saturday morning we were up bright and early for the arrival of a motorboat complete with all the equipment needed for an action-packed day on the bay. Some ventured out with the skipper to try their hand at water-skiing, tubing and wakeboarding, while others spent a more relaxed day soaking up the sun on deck. The thrill-seekers pulled off some legendary performances on the skis and the tube, pausing only to enjoy an ice-cold drink and an indulgent lunch spread on the boat before continuing with their aquatic adventures.

Team building: False bay sailing and a brand new spinnaker

Monday, August 17th, 2009

spinnaker-3Thursday the 13th August saw Media Vision South Africa undertake their first team sailing adventure. The team, comprising of captain AJ, first mate Zeke, skipper Brett and deckhands Lauren, David and Frances, took sail, equipped with nothing more than a couple of flimsy jackets on their backs and cold beers in their hands. Sandy decided to hold the fort by staying at the office and fielding calls from the slightly jealous UK office.

The weather was idyllic for a Cape winter’s day and we took off from Simonstown yacht club at a gentle pace eventually finding some light wind quite a way out at sea. The deckhands were roped in to take some of the slack and learnt some of the nautical lingo, such as ‘guy’ and ‘cleat’ in the process.

Team Building with Tenpin Bowling, Tequila and Terrible Directions

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

MediaVision SA - Sandy, Brett, Frances, Brandon and DarrenThe intrepid adventurers, aka MediaVision South Africa, returned once again in April to continue team building, this time it took the form of a fierce game of tenpin bowling. The game started a little later than anticipated as following Brandon’s impeccable sense of direction, the brave writers trio (Sandy, Brandon and Frances) fought their way through the back streets of the Southern Suburb’s urban jungle, in order to experience the world’s longest short cut. Meanwhile, back at the bar, Brett and Darren were being equally brave with battery acid tequila and no lemon. The writers trio joined in on a round of placatory shots and the men flexed their muscles to begin the game of WWW raw tenpin bowling.
