I agree that personal branding is about being conscious of doing the right thing and being yourself but by focusing on your strengths, like we try to (or should) do in our daily lives. People who &#039;opt out&#039; by deciding they don&#039;t care, don&#039;t beat the system, they simply let the system win. We should make these systems work for us and it&#039;s definitely very human to adapt to your environment:) I think it CAN become inauthentic and contrived so once again, like you say, being conscious all the time that there is actually some meaning behind all that you project is important. Anyway you&#039;ve given me a lot to think about!</description>

I&#039;ve often struggled with the idea of personal branding - just because the concept can make me feel contrived or inauthentic - but as you point out the important thing is that we&#039;re all brands already. Remaining conscious of how you are perceived or understood can not only be valuable but also teach you something about yourself - the key to understanding personal branding - I think - is focusing on the idea that its still a human thing, not just a strategy, but rather a sign of being conscious in the right way.</description>
